DON'T FEAR THE REAPER This project poses a challenge to the generally alienated attitude of Western culture towards death and dying by proposing a prolonged and dedicated series of funerary rituals borrowed from other cultures and religions. The funerary event takes place over the entirety of a night, where various rituals and their subsequent architectures are shaped by the shifts in light at dawn and dusk, as well as the waning light of candle and firelight. The site contains facilities for these events, as well as a crematorium and a perpetually growing columbarium. The columbarium's units actually become the building blocks for a continuously expanding wall of the dead, one which gradually overtakes the entirety of the site.
