STAIRWAY TO HEAVEN
SPRING SEMESTER PROGRAM - ARCHITECTURAL ASSOCIATION
This project investigates iconic architecture through the aggregation of various phenomenal experiences, each derived from a specific religious ritual. The church utilizes parametric design to create a language of different spaces: spaces of atonement, of celebration, of contemplation and of remembrance. The building is organized around the believe that the path to spiritual enlightenment is neither easy nor straighforward, but requires a significant physical, mental and spiritual effort.
